The Tri-State Bank of Memphis is the largest minority-owned and managed commercial bank in Tennessee. The bank was founded by father and son team the late Dr. J.E. Walker and A. Maceo Walker in 1964. The Walkers’ mission was to provide access to banking services for the underserved Memphis population. Since its inception, the bank has donated thousands of dollars to scholarships and community efforts.

In 2008, the firm reported assets of $119.7 million–down 3% from last year.
